2023 Where Trails Meet
Funded by the Carpenter Foundation, West Family Foundation, and the Chaney Foundation the first playground for Sunny Valley children and there families. In 2025 a pickle ball court and basketball hoop were added to the space by the River Valley Church to make progress towards making this a intergenerational playspace.
FIT FOR THE TRAIL YOGA - WEEKLY EXERCISE CLASSES
Funded by AllCare Health low impact yoga and exercise focuses on challenges seniors and all ages face concerning balance, flexibility, posture, and daily stress.
SEW IT BEGINS - ANNUAL SEWING CLASSES
Funded by the Four Way Community Foundation, Janome USA, Pendleton Woolen Fabrics, and the Roundhouse Foundation this project brought the opportunity for young and old to learn or brush up on their sewing skills. After completing the class, students return to the machines to donate a project to a deserving non-profit.
2025 UPGRADES FOR THE HISTORIC SITE KIOSK
We are excited to announce a campaign aimed at revitalizing the historic Applegate Trail Interpretive Kiosk, making it more engaging and accessible for visitors. This project involved a complete refurbishment of the aging structure, a custom mural, and a solar push-button audio feature that will provide descriptions of life along the Applegate Trail, the history of the Grave Creek Covered Bridge, and the settlement of Sunny Valley. Thank you to the Four Way Community Foundation for funding this project!
2020 A BRIGHT NEW CENTURY 1920 ~ 2020
The anniversary of the Grave Creek Covered Bridge was commemorated with the installation of ambient lighting for safety and beauty. Special thanks to the community, Four Way Community Foundation, Josephine County, and Friends of Country Living for this gift.
2023 SUNNY VALLEY SHARING BOX
Building on the concept of the Little Free Library Program, a bigger box replaced the original two LFL boxes and a third was added to use for summer produce, canned goods, and little surprises! Thank you to the Roundhouse Foundation for awarding FCL a Small Grant to build this structure.
2025 POPPIES, PATRIOTS, & POLLINATORS
As part of the FCL Adopt-A-Highway program, this project aims to enhance barren spaces with beauty and functionality. During October 2025, pounds of native poppy seeds were sown by community volunteers. Their first bloom should occur Spring 2026 and continue through many Memorial Days as a tribute of our Veterans.
LITTLE FREE HARVEST - ANNUAL EVENT
Community-distributed gardens come together at the Grave Creek Covered Bridge parking lot, to share and exchange their bounty with the community. If you would like to become a producer and join the network for the 2026 season, please sign up on the Events/Registration page.
